COMS 384 - Visual Effects in Film and Television 3 Credit(s)
Visual effects have become ubiquitous in the television and film industries. This course examines the process of planning, designing, and producing visual effects for the television and film industry. Topics include visual effect formats and structure as framework for visual effects in a film/video production. Adobe After Effects is a premier software package used in the television and film industry. Students learn and use Adobe After Effects to complete visual effects coursework assignments. At the conclusion of the course, students will have planned and completed various visual effects. The class is conducted as a lecture laboratory workshop with all students designing and producing visual effects and constructively studying and critiquing the effectiveness of visual effects. Does not fulfill the social science general education requirement. Prerequisite(s): COMS 260 .
