Instructional Coaching Endorsement Certification

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Areas of Study A-Z

The Instructional Coaching Certificate is offered for educational professionals who currently possess a bachelor’s and/or master’s degrees in education or other related field.  The 12-credit certificate program is designed for working professionals who want to add the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) endorsement to their existing teaching certificate, or for educators who want to develop their leadership capacity, but still intend to teach or stay more closely connected to the classroom.  Students can choose to specialize in literacy coaching, through choosing ED 566  (Foundations of Literacy Coaching), or focus on general instructional coaching for all teachers ED 545  (Instructional Leadership). The certificate in Instructional Coaching will help teachers develop insights into how they can work with classroom teachers by strengthening their instructional skills and their ability to mentor and collaborate with other teachers through observation, modeling, and feedback.

Total Credits: 12

The program of study that appears here applies to students who were admitted for the summer session of this catalog year and later.  Students admitted prior to that term should select the appropriate catalog year of their admission.  Choose previous catalogs from the Home, Graduate, or Undergraduate Catalog Page at http://Catalog.widener.edu.
