Leadership in Organizations, Certificate

|
Students will benefit from increasing their knowledge in Leadership in Organizations, including organizational theories, ethical leadership, and communications. It is expected that students will:
- Explain principles of organizational structure and design; environment, strategy, technology, organizational culture, change, organizational and inter-organizational relationships, decision making hierarchies, bureaucracy, power, and politics.
- Identify and overcome the challenges of ethical leadership that occur at the individual, organizational and societal levels.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the major theories of organizations and human behavior in an organizational context.
- Optimize organizational impact through writing, speaking, and media options
- Further develop their ability to manage and lead in various organizational roles
- Be able to articulate how theory and practice can be combined for application in professional and personal settings.

Program Requirements:

Must comply with all general requirements of Widener University relating to the governance of graduate programs.

Must complete at least 9 credits of graduate work in the certificate program.

Must complete all of the degree requirements within a total of five calendar years.

Must maintain a minimum semester and cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all program coursework. Must earn a “B” or better in all courses.
