Nursing, Executive Nurse Leadership Post-Master’s Certificate

A post -master’s (PM) certificate is available for nurses with an MSN degree who would like to develop foundational system and business skills to lead in every system level in health care.

With courses in both the School of Nursing and School of Business Administration, students will learn how to improve health outcomes. The focus of the certificate is on management skills, health care finance, organizational and systems leadership, and data analytics. Length of time of completion varies based on prior course work and previously obtained clinical practicum hours. A graduate level statistics course is required to obtain the ENL certificate. Students who do not transfer a graduate level statistics course may enroll in NURS 652- Statistical Analysis and Interpretation.   The certificate can be completed in 18-24 of part-time study.

Admission

Registered nurses with a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program are eligible to apply for the post-master’s certificate programs. To apply, arrange for a personal interview and submit the following to the graduate nursing office:

  • Completed online application.
  • Transcript from the master’s degree program.
  • Two recommendations regarding applicant’s practice and potential for the ENL role.
  • Valid U.S. license as a registered nurse.
  • Goal statement related to ENL role.

A graduate level statistics course  (3 credits) is required to obtain the ENL certificate. Students who do not transfer a graduate level statistics course may enroll in NURS 652- Statistical Analysis and Interpretation.
