Honors in Spanish
To be eligible to receive honors in Spanish, students must:
- Have studied, interned, or volunteered abroad in an approved program for a minimum of one week in a country in which Spanish is the official language or have completed an internship or volunteer project of 40 hours minimum using Spanish in an immigrant community setting in the United States.
- Have both a cumulative GPA and a GPA within the major of 3.0 or higher and a grade of A- or higher in SPAN 409 .
- Give a public presentation about their experiences abroad during International Week, Honors Week, or Student Project Day.
- Have no record of academic integrity violations.
To be eligible to receive high honors in Spanish, students must:
- Have studied, interned, or volunteered abroad in an approved program for a minimum of a semester in a country in which Spanish is the official language.
- Have a cumulative GPA and a GPA within the major of 3.5 or higher and a grade of A- or higher in SPAN 409 .
- Write a reflective paper of 3–5 pages about how the study abroad experience enhanced his/her education as a Spanish major.
- Give a public presentation about their experiences abroad during International Week, Honors Week, or Student Project Day.
- Have no record of academic integrity violations.
