Return to: Areas of Study by Type
The minor offers students a broad-based knowledge of mechanical systems, electronics, sensors, and controls in the pioneering and expanding field of robotics. The curriculum includes topics from electrical and mechanical engineering. It also provides hands-on experience in robotics systems. This multidisciplinary curriculum enables engineering students to pursue their major field of study with a component of robotics with automation for employment in manufacturing, defense, robotics sales/service, and a host of other industries. To complete the minor, students must satisfy 21–22 semester hours, some of which are satisfied through engineering major requirements and/or technical electives. Interested students should consult with their advisor as early as the freshman year.
