Criminal Justice and Applied Sociology, BA

The double criminal justice and sociology major is designed for students interested in the impact of communities and social interactions on everyday problems in society, including crime and deviance.  Students pursuing this double major should be interested in studying social issues through field experience.  Structured to fit within a four year curriculum, the major encompasses the requirements of both programs while allowing students to tailor coursework to fit intellectual interests.

*Waived for students transferring into major or adding major after first semester freshman year.

** SOC 355 should preferably be taken in the fall of the junior year.  SOC 382 and SOC 405 should preferably be taken in the spring of the junior year.  CJ/SOC double majors who are not in the Applied Sociology Concentration should meet with the department chair to discuss alternative mandatory degree requirements.
